[Infographic] What Does It Take to Create Effective eLearning

eLearning refers to the use of electronic media & information and communication technologies (ICT) in education. It is broadly inclusive of all forms of educational technology in learning and teaching. eLearning includes numerous types of media that

deliver text, audio, images, animation, streaming video, etc.

It occurs in or out of the classroom as self-paced, asynchronous learning or may be instructor-led, synchronous learning.  eLearning is suited to distance learning and flexible learning, but it can also be used in conjunction with face-to-face teaching, in which case the term blended learning is commonly used.

Unlike traditional classroom training, eLearning is very visible. Everything from screen color to content accuracy to the types of practices is readily available. Creation of effective eLearning requires expertise in Project Management, Computer-based Instructional Design, Multimedia Design, Instructional Technology and Quality Assurance. Remember, creating effective eLearning can’t be achieved by a single person, it’s a team approach. This infographic highlights the five key skill sets required to develop effective e-learning as well as the primary contributions of each team member.
